INVESTIGATE THE UK HEALTHCARE FAILURE'S
I have a friend who moved to the UK from Boise Idaho to be with her new husband. She told me horror stories about the UK's socialized medicine. Her husband died, because he had to wait 3 months to be seen or get an appointment to deal with a variety of health problems, including heart failure and cancer. She asked me to please tell the U.S. government not to get involved in socialized medicine.
It makes sense to me when I see how slow our Medicare system is.

Do away with the credit score system
It seems the system we use is highly flawed. There's always mistakes on the reports, and no real way to fix them. My credit report still dosn't have my correct address on it.

create an unambigious roadmap for interfacing with the FCC
At a macro level this strategy will be super important before new technological innovations are introduced...it's not the ideas that will trip us up, but the protection of turf under the "old way" of doing things.

free access to academic resources (articles, publications)
The products of academic, scholarly, scientific work (scientific articles, conference proceedings, research reports, etc) should be freely accessible to anyone, full-text, without any paid subscription. Knowledge should be accessible to anyone who wants to be informed or who wants to do more research. Also, the access to major scholar databases (such as Medline, EBSCO, OVID, PubMed) should be free of charge to anyone. The purpose of scientific research is to push forward the boundaries of knowledge and to inspire new research, not to make money out of it. The costs of maintaining these databases should be supported by the government.

Should require that IT professionals be licensed to practice
This will ensure quality of the profession as the broad scope of IT services is always evolving. In addition, IT activities that are exempt today, may eventually shift into a practice area like research and development which will require more expertise.
Secondly, it will restrict the amount of individuals who can work in the field and encourage competence, dedication and integrity which are highly needed especially in areas like IT security. We cannot discount the fact that IT security plays a huge role in public safety with heightened public attention towards issues like identity theft.
And finally, these professionals must…6 votes -
Ensure all K - 12 public classrooms have 1 cpu w/ internet
Every K - 12 public school classroom in our country should have at least one reliable computer with internet access. All teachers should be trained in how to use the computer and one hour of the weekly student curriculum should include computer/internet training. Every state should create a new office charged with developing the computer/internet curriculum and overseeing installation/maintenance of the classroom equipment.

create a Security Advisory Counsel from Private Sector
There are many excellent sources of knowledge in these United States from the private sector. I have respect for those individuals and rely heavily on their publications, blogs, books, symposiums in order to be effective at my job as a security professional. There are persons in this beautiful country such as Professor Randy Pausch who are passionate. Some of us security professionals are passionate about what they do to protect and server their customers and clients. A panel of such brilliance from the private sector, would provide voices into shoring up defenses -- where private sector meets public and we…

Teach effective coping skill to American children.
The mass media is counter-productive to the health of society. America is sick and the people don't understand how to cope with stress.
Video games continue to teach children to kill their enemies instead of confronting and coping with stress. At the same time the mass media exalts the shooters with the most kills (just like video games). Americans can't comprehend how much this affects them. Nor will they listen, feel free to ignore this suggestion because you're stupid.
Wake up people, you are unable to comprehend what is about to happen to this country if you continue to…

Fund individuals reasearching school shooting prevention
The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is a failure; the mental health system is a failure. All current measures taken to PREVENT shooting sprees, SCHOOL SHOOTINGS and suicides are failing horribly.
Support http://www.z-tron.com financially and MrZtron's I.C.A.P.S. procedure. If society continues to ignore the truth, modern day tragedies will increase astronomically.

Add a donation option to all government websites
Create a donation area that lists the government departments. Allow donations to these areas. Sub-categories could also be listed to allow more targeted giving. This will all people to support their special interests and remove some of the current budget burden. In addition, it might also remove, though not eliminate, the need to find more creative ways to tax. It does not have to be tax deductible because that would actually lessen what was given.

Make federal agencies' internet sites have one layout
The federal government should adopt an idea that the Canadian government uses for its websites. The USA should have the same look and feel, and layout, from site to site. The logo and name of the site would differ, but there is no need to have vastly different looks from agency to agency. Most users of government agencies are looking for content - so it would save money to have less money spent on website design and graphics, more on delivering content and information.
