2. my idea

   OK this is away for the world to see us do something and do it now. My idea is easy they would like to redo the Sear tower ,change it up a little. They would love to have the olimpics in Chicago. They would like to make more jobs for the working man and woman. Well here you go, Lets take the tallest building in the USA and turn it solar. If we could get all of the lights in that building working off solar power think of the energy we save. we could show how the solar panels pay for them self. If that building was green think of the people and other country that would want to learn more or even just see it. We need to start some were. On a real scale this would be starting small but would give a huge boost in showing the world that America is ready to rise to its potental.

7. Ensure government technology projects use open standards.

   Vendor lock-in is a problem that costs companies and public institutions a great deal of money and manpower. this cost may not be apparent initially but when a technology solution does not involve open standards it not only means that the whole process relies on a single company or its products. This situation turns any process involving that product into a black box that cannot be opened or re-configured (legally) if needed by anyone other that the company or individual that created it. Open standards still allow companies to create products using the open standards and charge money for their products and services but they also allow the users of the products to be able to utilize what they purchase to the fullest and still make use of the product if the company dissolves (read the papers if you don't think that will happen). Private sector companies may not want to jump on the open standards bandwagon maybe due to deals with software vendor for sponsorship, license royalties, etc., however, our government and the reaffirmation of willingness to be transparent should at least start be using open standards that ensure interoperability between technology solutions.

8. Immediate JOBS for Most Americans

   I believe to get the economy going right away is to start an agressive urban repair program now. Simply put it means that before any rebuilding is started the first thing that is needed is to remove all garbage etc from the targareted areas. This process alone can employ thousands of people all across the country and get money into small businesses immediately. Starting at ground level as opposed to all the grand projects I firmly believe will have a immediate impact on starting up the economy.

   Over 90% of federal employees using Microsoft Office could be equally productive using free equivalents such as OpenOffice.

   Mandating the usage of established open source technologies would save the federal government many tens of MILLIONS of dollars.

    (Paid for by Illegal Immigrants)
    It is estimated in the U.S. immigration report that between 12 and 20 million illegal immigrants are living within the confines of the United States borders. It is not argued by many Americans that these illegal immigrants are working jobs here in the United States. This means that there is an enormous amount of tax revenue that has not been taken in from these people. My plan does four things simultaneously: it collects this past revenue, it works to offer citizenship, it creates many jobs for current U.S. citizens, and most importantly it is set up in a fashion that does offend people who are already U.S. citizens.
    I know that there are many Americans that want to deport these illegal immigrants, but my plan allows for them to become full citizens by following a strict set of guidelines. The plan will allow them to buy their way to citizenship by paying extra taxes. This will help our struggling economy by creating thousands of jobs (which I will explain shortly). Using these Illegal Immigrants to create jobs for Americans, and to pay for those jobs, will help hateful people have a little more respect for them. It will also put an end to the idea that the illegal immigrants take away good Americans jobs. Under my plan these people will be creating good American jobs.
    My plan also helps to narrow the amount of illegal immigrants inside of our borders so that when INS or the Department of Homeland Security are trying to find the people that are threats to our way of life, they have fewer people to sift through.
    My plan is an offering of temporary citizenship to the illegal immigrants that can somehow prove that they have been here more than one year. These people will be required to do one of the following: 1. Pay double taxes for seven out of ten years, or 2. Pay triple taxes for three out of 5 years. They will also be required to give their fingerprints to the FBI database, enroll in English language courses, and citizenship courses. They have to do all of this in order to prove that they are serious about attempting to learn our language (if they are not already fluent) and prove that they honestly respect American citizenship. Once they have completed all of these requirements they will have a review hearing to establish full citizenship. If the illegal immigrant complains however, the offer will be withdrawn and they will be deported. This is a success oriented program though, so there will be nets to catch the people who struggle to pay triple taxes if that is the choice they select, but they will finish our program if they want to stay.
    Even though starting this program will require an initial investment on the part of the United States government, the taxes generated will be put into a separate tax system which pays the government back and pays for the many jobs this new program creates. These jobs will be created under a new heading or department in the national government for now I am calling it the “New System”. There will be three groups of jobs created by this system: one will be jobs created in order to follow up with all of the illegal immigrants on a regular basis until they complete the program, the second group of jobs will be for teaching these people English, and the third group will be for teaching each of them about U.S. citizenship. Again I will state that there are between 12,000,000 and 20,000,000 people in this country illegally. If you average that at 16,000,000, then take away a third who are probably children (who don’t work) you get 10,666,666, and then take that times the amount of additional money put into the “New System” by the illegal immigrants newly collected tax dollars (which I will blindly estimate at 3,000 per person without regard to whether they choose the 3 year or seven year plan): 10,666,666 X $3,000 = $31,999,998,000 this is an estimate of the additional money that will be collected annually and used to pay for these transitional jobs. At an average of $40,000 per year this system will create nearly 800,000 jobs. Each one of those positions will pay an estimated average of $5,500 taxes per year. This means that nearly $4,400,000,000 in federal taxes will be paid annually from the “New System” and the jobs it creates.

    Like electronic medical records, e-energy systems and competrizing all branches of govt. I would strongly recommend against Mrs Warrior. I have worked with Motorola when she was there and her lack of integrity and lies in claiming credit for many things is appalling. Obama - you dont want this person. For eg she said she oversaw the 3.4B R&D budget with 24000 engrs. That's a lie. SHe only oversaw corp R&D and SW (4000 people). the actual products come out of engineers who are part of the diff businesses. She is a good spin master but no substance. PLEASE AVOID HER.

12. Build a global edemocratic charitable trust

    It seems to me that you need an idea that will help to bring together all the peoples of the world to share your vision of hope and cooperation. A big part of the problem today is that we do not see the tools we need to build a better tomorrow. I would like share my vision of a tool that will help us to realize the shared dreams of humanity, empowering all peoples to build a better tomorrow.

    The base concept is fairly simple, it is a democratic charity. The easiest way to understand it is to think of it as a dream machine, an online democracy where members vote on the dreams of others. It is like an American Idol for solutions to world problems. A place where everyone can participate, where we can address problems in real time, define solutions and vote on the solutions we deem most likely to succeed.

    The foundation of any democracy is the right to vote. This democracy extends voting rights to members who contribute funds. It monetizes votes, providing incentives to donate and ensuring that those who contribute have a proportional say in how their monies are spent. In addition it operates as a trust, initial donations are invested, and it is the interest on investments that is used to fund the solutions that are selected. This may seem to limit the ability of the tool to quickly deliver solutions; however, the snowball effect as it rolls through time gives it enormous potential.

    To reiterate it is a tool that at its roots is a web site that invites people to join an online democracy. The fee to join the democracy is whatever amount you choose to donate; however, your donation represents the strength of your democratic voice. As we roll through time, members express their dreams and a review and voting process percolates the best ideas to the top, where they are funded. Projects are paid for by the returns from the trust fund that is created when people join the democracy.

    Going past the base concept, the next thing the tool tries to address is the complex nature of the problems that face modern civilization. A single democratic charity would have a difficult time addressing the myriad of different societal needs without causing conflict and divisiveness. This can be easily resolved by providing a reusable framework to implement a set of trusts where each trust supports a different cause. When a person joins, they make a donation and specify the democratic charity that they wish to support. The ability to direct donations towards a charitable theme (trust) allows us to address the problems that we deem to be most pressing. The framework approach provides the structure for the organization; each trust represents a specific cause, with potential for geographic or demographic characteristics. The web site provides a cohesive view of all the trusts that participate, and it allows each one to operate as a standalone implementation. This way you could have trusts to address environmental issues, poverty, disaster relief, even the local high school football team. Each dollar you donate into a trust account translates into a vote in that democracy.

    We now have a mosaic of democratic charities that evolves over time as the needs and challenges of society changes. The next piece to understand is that the only way something of this magnitude could ever succeed is if it were impeccable, beyond reproach. It needs to ooze confidence and execute flawlessly. What is envisioned is a solution that operates at arms length from all of the monetary transactions. When a member donates into a trust account, a portal would allow them to specify the mutual fund where their donation is invested. Approved project are tendered to the public, with the competing proposals presented back to the members that sponsored it. An independent audit/actuarial function would represent a common cause that operates across all charities. Its mandate would be to ensure the integrity of the individual charities and the projects within. The democracy, the website, is a façade, its only mandate is to present the information, its source of funds could be advertising revenues and I would suggest that it remain not-for-profit.

    Finally, the model could be specialized for different demographics. You could have a series of trusts that are funded by nation states whose projects are voted on by elected representatives. You could have a set of funds to assist the disenfranchised where monies are donated by anyone but membership is restricted i.e. children, indigenous peoples or impoverished peoples. You could have a series of funds that are sponsored by corporations whose projects are voted on by CEOs. The model is flexible and should adapt to perceived needs. Finally, the model doesn’t prohibit nations or corporations from participating in the funding of any trust accounts; it may limit their ability to vote.

    Democratic Charitable Trust - What does this mean?

    First, it is a global democratic organization that engages and connects people in an arena that is inclusive. It establishes a permanent relationship with donors, granting them lifetime votes for monies donated. It is a participatory democracy, and it can only help to showcase the value of freedom to developing nations.

    Second, it is a Charitable website, which means universal appeal and reach. It is a voice for the generous of heart, and yet another opportunity to experience the blessings of charity.

    Finally, they are trusts; it is the interest earned that is used to realize people’s dreams; the snowball effect as it rolls through time gives it enormous potential.

    There are so many problems today that are in need of an answer. This idea opens its doors to the world and asks for answers to all of life’s most difficult and pressing problems. Given time and encouragement it will implement all the very best answers that are found. I think that the biggest challenge facing us today is that we don’t see the tools we need to build a better tomorrow. It is a place where peoples of different religions, cultures, and ethnicities can come together to express, share and realize our united hopes and dreams for a better tomorrow.

    I thought a nice slogan would be “A Window onto a World of Dreamers and Dreams”. I see it as a precious gem, a rarity, a pure bright glimmer of hope in an ocean of froth.
