Just the opposite. Stop subsidizing gas, allow Americans to feel what fuel really costs. That pressure will speed dev. of alt. energy. Excuse me, but what the f*&k have GM and Ford been doing for the last 32 years (since the Carter energy crisis)? If the only obstacle to electric cars is a decent battery and they couldn't be bothered, why should we bail 'em out? Let the gas economy go to hell!
