invest in electric and hydrogen powered vehicles, saving GM.
Electric cars would require funding, but the concept is proven plausible. Creating the beast would require brilliant engineers, creating jobs; manufacturing the beast would require thousands of hands, creating jobs; the end result will be a shift away from oil, prolonging American self-dependance.

Especially considering 62% of the United States' oil is used for transportation, this would dramatically reduce the amount of dependence and possibly even eliminate the need for oil from certain regions. And like it or not, GM is really the only company who has the capability to manufacture electric cars on such a large scale.

Screw GM. They've had 32 years since the Carter-era gas crisis and all they had to do was develop a decent battery. Look what they did instead! They're partly responsible for our economy sinking like a concrete-filled hummer in lake Michigan.
