stop bandwidth caps and restore unlimited internet access.
More and more American broadband companies are imposing restrictive bandwidth caps on their users. This hurts the development of the internet, it hurts businesses that depend on digital distribution to sell their product, and finally it hurts everyday Americans who use the internet for learning, to earn a living, or to entertain themselves with the media of tomorrow.
ISP's argue that a mere few consume the most bandwidth, and therefore all should be punished with restrictive monthly caps on their usage. This is wrong. The internet is growing and expanding. Video is everywhere, online gaming is an industry unto itself, and internet appliances are finding their way into more and more American homes. Americans everywhere are enjoying richer more prosperous lives because of the rise of the modern internet.
What is the respone of the large Cable/DSL providers in America? STOP IT! SLOW IT DOWN! CEASE AND DESIST! NO! NO! NO!
Please do everything you can to restore the promise of the internet, and stop companies who failed to invest in the American internet infrastructure from robbing their customers of the many benefits of a free and unlimited internet.

I've been voting for Democrats since I could vote more than a decade ago, but I am very unhappy with Obama's performance as our President.
In my opinion, if he's not going to do anything to fight this broadband cap, the killing of Bin Laden doesn't mean anything to me.
Bin Laden = foreign and have no direct impact
Broadband Cap = Constantly on people's minds -

Evil must not be allowed to prevail! I make my money on the internet. Free internet for all would be fairly possible if the greedy were slain and one glorious leader united all of the broken and evil corporations into one government regulated people powered interweb. At least make the caps reasonable.

Bandwidth throttling is horrible; either the price of the service needs to be dropped or this feature should be dropped. These usage caps (aka bandwidth caps) are ludicrous and do nothing except line the pockets of those at the top of the ISP Corporate ladder. The internet has become necessary to enough people that I believe should be regulated as a utility.

I agree sstroup, I have no problem with caps but I do have a problem with false advertising and fraud, if you advertise unlimited and then cap its fraud and false advertising I dont care what paid off judges say

Thanks for the link. I like the other idea better (the one about disclosures). Caps are almost mandatory (I doubt many ISPs could stay in business if every customer was offered the promise unlimited bandwidth), as bandwidth is a limited resource. As long as the caps are clearly stated and understood, they're fine in my sight. Once everything's out in the open, users can choose with their wallets.

Or at least require ISPs to disclose all bandwidth caps and limitations so that consumers are more aware of them: http://obamacto.uservoice.com/pages/general/suggestions/70440
