It would be nice for the US government to provide a national archive for all US citizens. The idea is always with the individual, and the US government could provide the capacity for all US citizens to make a statement either identified or anonymously to preserve for posterity.
This system could also include a federal ID system which could assist with on-line voting, etc. I have always felt that I would rather trust the US gov't. with a digital verification certificate instead of a private company.
