To make identity theft harder and privacy harder
As of this year, thousands of americans have had their identity stolen due to out-dated privacy measures insured by our banks. The system is based on trust and checks can be passed with just a signature and a bank number. Like airport security, Banks should require more documentation such as a passport and a drivers license, and make it so these documents are harder to copy by adding more security measures such as a unique barcode that changes after each use, and a finger-print id that only the bank would have record of, and that cannot be sold to the highest bidder. Also, to make it so it is illegal to share information with other companies without the persons personal knowledge.
Also, make it so that international purchases using a credit card or debit card for an international purchase takes (or money transfer) much longer to approve to make sure there is nothing fradulent at hand happening.
Also make it so credit card debt is capped out at a lower amount, since the average american is $7000 or more in credit card debt for a short amount of time, so they have time to pay it back.
