The transportation system in the United States is a nightmare. It causes people more grief than anything other than the health care industry.

It is not unrealistic to think that more than 50% of urban-metro transportation could be automated within 20 years.

Doing this would save countless lives, improve quality of life dramatically, and make much more efficient use of energy.
