  2. Currently child protection and pornography filters must search the web to find content to block. Protect kids and help others who don't want to view this content by mandating that all adult themed websites register as such. There can be an open registry that is only available to organizations that use the list to create child filters. This would also prevent other illicit activity from occurring on the sites.

  4. This is a time for change. It's time to forget Windows PC machines and all their problems and switch the Federal government over to Apple's Macintosh computers. Everything will be more secure and work as needed when needed.

I also recommend the CTO to make the Federal government totally digital, why kill trees when we have such high-tech technology.

  5. It is clear that Energy dependence on foreign oil threatens our economy, frames our foreign policy and limits its effectiveness and contributes to global warming.
by forming a NTA (national technology administration- with the first objective of making this country energy independent by 2020) this new CTO would determine which technologies should be explored and supported, developed to acheive this objective.

Energy independence would accomplish a great deal in stabilizing the economy, provide jobs and reduce the threat of global warming.

No doubt it would provide a model for other developing countries on how to deal with those impending problems…

  7. Protect the second amendment and the rights of citizens to bear arms for self-protection, hunting, and, as originally intended, protection from a tyrannical government.

Allow citizens to continue to be able to acquire concealed carry permits.

Do not reinstate the expired, ineffective and useless Assault Weapons Bans. It has had little to no effect on crime, and has prevented law abiding citizens from owning guns of their choice.

  8. Nick Denton has withdrawn private funding from Valleywag, the only website that dared to tell the truth about America's tech industry. For less than the cost of three government employees, Valleywag could operate as a standalone, ad-free, conflict-of-interest free site. I would have something worth reading while chained to my desk at lunch.

  9. The Electronic Communications Privacy Act was passed in 1986. The Internet has changed a great deal since then. Privacy standards have been left mainly in the hands of courts, which widely differ as to what they consider within ECPA's scope. These decisions have immense implications for users' privacy rights online. (Unread email, for example, has been held to two different standards of privacy-- the stricter standard of the Wiretapping Act, and the considerably laxer standard of the Stored Communications Act.) It is extremely important that a new CTO get ECPA back on the radar, and update U.S. privacy policy as…

  12. It would be nice for the US government to provide a national archive for all US citizens. The idea is always with the individual, and the US government could provide the capacity for all US citizens to make a statement either identified or anonymously to preserve for posterity.
This system could also include a federal ID system which could assist with on-line voting, etc. I have always felt that I would rather trust the US gov't. with a digital verification certificate instead of a private company.

  19. Basically use the hydrogen as a battery using electrolysis. Refill at home or at a station by taking in H2 and O2 and giving back H_2O. Make it a closed system that simply takes rising ocean water out of the environment and otherwise is independent of the environment.

The car can convert the H2 and O2 into water and use the energy released to propel the car. We can also reuse energy absorbed by breaks and heat converters to create more H2 and O2 with electrolysis.

I don't really think this should be used…
