Reduce the number of media outlets that one company can own.
A "market place of ideas" is the fundamental requirement for a working democratic system but if the media is all owned by a few companies, then no matter how many channels there are they represent only a few viewpoints. We need to breakup Fox and Sony and others and create more "Viewpoints" from which we can get information.

Fund individuals reasearching school shooting prevention
The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is a failure; the mental health system is a failure. All current measures taken to PREVENT shooting sprees, SCHOOL SHOOTINGS and suicides are failing horribly.
Support http://www.z-tron.com financially and MrZtron's I.C.A.P.S. procedure. If society continues to ignore the truth, modern day tragedies will increase astronomically.

Teach effective coping skill to American children.
The mass media is counter-productive to the health of society. America is sick and the people don't understand how to cope with stress.
Video games continue to teach children to kill their enemies instead of confronting and coping with stress. At the same time the mass media exalts the shooters with the most kills (just like video games). Americans can't comprehend how much this affects them. Nor will they listen, feel free to ignore this suggestion because you're stupid.
Wake up people, you are unable to comprehend what is about to happen to this country if you continue to…

Every K - 12 public school classroom in our country should have at least one reliable computer with internet access. An open-minded council of technologists, community organizers, market and sociological experts whose purpose is the discovery and design of a unified system for public dialog and data. This ensures visibility for all expressed citizen needs and all governmental initiatives and decisions on national, state and local levels.
Gross abuse of power is mitigated by the ability to compare rhetoric and promises to documented action. More relevant decision making is developed by aggregating diverse public sentiment and real-worldexamples of the causes and impacts of imbalanced policy and social practices.

Let the Obama (not Bush), and US, Iraq decide on the tropps
Please let the B. Obama administration work with the Iraqi people to decide the fate of the US troops. There is no need to rush a deal before Bush leaves office. He has had eight long years to make this deal and does not deserve the right to make the decision.

Fix IT procurement so government uses lean, flexible systems
Lightweight, one-size-fits-all, off the shelf systems work better.
Government should be running on gmail, twitter, blogger, google calendars, salesforce.com, webex, wikimedia, etc.
IT should drive performance. Instead, it hinders it for so many agencies.
As someone who's been through the government IT procurement process, TONS and TONS of money is wasted with zero accountability. You have clever middle-managers who want to build a better mousetrap, IT vendors who take them along for a ride, and general contractors who layer on bureaucracy and cost markups. You get $11,000 laptops that take six months to get to your desk. And there is…

WiMax Technology
In order to ensure that all people have access to the vast information the web provides, the CTO should work to create WiFi available to all people on all platforms. We have WiFi hot spots in major cities, but it is time that we expand this to all areas. WiMax technology exists, but it needs to be capitalized and used to ensure that all people have access to the information. With this we can finally have a well informed society. No longer will the major cable companies have a complete monopoly over the broadband industry. The internet should not only…

Ending the use of Home Heating Oil
The lowest of low-hanging fruit in our quest to reduce oil consumption is to find alternatives to home heating oil. Something like 8% of our total oil consumption is simply for heating.
Other alternatives for home heating like natural gas or heat pumps exist.
Some form of tax credits could increase conversions, up to a full ride for those that qualify. This would:
1) reduce oil demand
2) allow elimination of the home heation oil subsidy program
3) prevent Venesuela, through Citgo, from getting a public reations coup by saying they are giving home heating oil to poor americans3 votes -
STOP controlling the media; it is illegal;
The USA brought over top Nazi's after the war to learn all they could; one of them was political propaganda which meant 1/2 or more of Germany had no clue what was going on: THIS media conglomeration to control "public perception" is illegal; the "management perception" military term means that they use lies, & false reports appearing true: to deliberately mislead & deceive; perhaps it should be called "the great deception" NOT democracy;
