Our media failed us in the lead up to the war. They failed us in reporting on the problems with evoting. Citizen journalism and the blogsphere were helpful on both of these. We must keep the people's bandwidth free or we as a nation will be blind to reality and see only what the few media oligarchs choose for us. We need to be able to project and receive information unfettered.

There are open source systems that are far more secure than those of commercial companies. A company has a financial interest in the outcome of any election and that's a dangerous conflict of interest. We need strong, reliable opensource system to be supported by the government (as in purchased, validated, and deployed).

It made us less safe by flooding the intelligence services with useless information about what i'm googling. If the hay stack is bigger, the needle is harder to find. Lack of data and FISA didn't cause 9/11, incompetence did.

We all know that the terrorists are just a group of motivated thugs, not super criminals. We can stop them better without the Partiot Act.

The electonet will be an essential part of solving our energy dependence. It will allow for community approaches, economic incentives for small scale green projects and better control over energy loss.

Amory Lovins, at the Rocky Mountain institute, is right we can grow out economy by greening it. From standard efficiency programs to process engineering we need to rethink to make the most desirable products and services that use the least resources. The earth wins, our economy wins because the economy is the environment

I agree, following the path started by Sunlight and change-congress.org sounds like a great idea. The people need to know how their government is operating if they are to support it and it is our greatest weapon against the power of money.
