    Interestingly back in the 80's we started learning how to program in basic in first grade, and were up to animating stick figures running across the screen by 8th grade. Sure programming is a lot more complex now, but even though basic isn't really used anymore I feel I have a great understanding of computers for having learned it. All in all not a bad plan.
