An error occurred while saving the comment nerdychaz commentedI don't quite understand how this would work. If you mean to do this for gov. contracts, I am all for it. But to find gov. employment? I would find this absurd.

An error occurred while saving the comment nerdychaz commentedAs a grad of Crim. Just. I understand how confusing lawyer speak is. Just when you think you got it right, your brief was completely off in left field. Making legislation and law understandable for the average human would definitely benefit all. Of course, it would put a lot of lawyers out of business. Would that be so bad? Also, I think is a job for the new tech officer, albeit low tech.

An error occurred while saving the comment nerdychaz commentedOpen source is the future of computing. Developers only need to remember to make their product user friendly, not geek friendly and F/OSS has a future.

An error occurred while saving the comment nerdychaz commentedMost libraries are funded privately (by donations), or via local government or state government. These libraries are often well funded and they prioritize their spending as they see fit. A mediocre internet connection should be all that a library really needs for it's intended purposes. However, if I plan on playing WOW or downloading hi-res porn, I may want a better internet connection.

An error occurred while saving the comment nerdychaz commentedI support the idea of stopping the drug war. War... A war waged upon the American people. Marijuana was legal up until fifty years ago. What happened? Overnight thousands of Americans were made criminals. Sad...

An error occurred while saving the comment nerdychaz commentedAARRGH!!! Unions protect workers from abuse!! What are you thinking stingham? We can't let the companies make hundreds of thousands and then compensate the workers with pennies. Unions afford the protection for workers to stand up to the bosses. United we win, divided we fail.
An error occurred while saving the comment nerdychaz commentedThe problem is that if GM fails, so do thousands of others. GM is too big to let fail because so many jobs and industries are dependent upon GM. including, but not limited to: coal mines, iron mines, smelters, steel mills, steel workers, part fabricators, retailers, car dealerships, repair services, etc. The real solution would be to bust the company into smaller parts, the weak will fail.

An error occurred while saving the comment nerdychaz commentedThe problem with broadband in small communities is that you would have several networks providing the same service to a small group of people. Whoever runs the first line out to the people, wins. If you were a company and wanted to run a second line out there, you would lose money. Why? Because small communities cannot fiscally support multiple networks.
